Caster rollers  are designed to provide a smooth, effortless rolling surface for carts and racks. They are available in a variety of materials, wheel diameters, tread widths and load ratings to suit your material handling needs.

Soft Tread Caster Wheels: Often used in medical and pharmaceutical equipment, these wheels feature thermoplastic rubber or mold-on rubber to prevent damage to delicate floor surfaces, while also offering a comfortable ride. They are chemical, oil and acid resistant as well.

Pneumatic Wheels: These are typically larger in size than other wheels, which helps reduce the initial push force that is required to start them rolling. However, air pressure needs to be monitored to avoid flats and they require more maintenance as they require frequent lubrication.

Caster Rollers vs. Traditional Casters: Which is Best for Your Application

Rigid Caster Wheels: For heavy loads, these wheels are made of ductile iron and are coated with polyurethane to ensure that they can withstand tough conditions while not damaging interior floors. They can handle up to 800degF and are designed for use on steel tracks.

Top Plates: These are caster wheels with mounting holes and are commonly called “top plates.” They are available in different hole patterns to fit different types of mounting requirements.

Stem Casters: These are casters that are threaded, round or square with mounting holes and have friction ring or expandable stems for easy mounting. They are available with a wide range of bearing options including ball, double ball and precision tapered.

Casters are a vital part of many industrial processes and should be selected carefully, based on the work environment that they will be exposed to. The proper caster will reduce strain and help make warehouse and material handling operations more efficient.
